Tadpole Garden Village
Tadpole Garden Village, situated just to the north of Swindon, is one of Crest Nicholson’s award-winning flagship residential sites. Development is now well underway and, once complete, it will contain some 1855 dwellings, a Primary and Secondary school, public house, retail centre, sports pitches, open space and landscaping.
David Jarvis Associates has worked closely with Crest Nicholson in designing and implementing a landscape-led development, based on the Garden Village concept, creating a ‘green grid of connectivity’. This is characterised by generous open spaces and play areas, with mature trees planted from the outset. DJA has been involved in the full spectrum of landscape architecture work stages, from drafting Design Codes through to contract administration of the strategic landscape works.
More recently, DJA has also assisted Crest on the Planning side, through the submission of various Planning and Reserved Matters applications relating to areas of public open space, allotments and the retail centre. Applications will shortly be submitted for the provision of an area of Custom-Build housing and a new Sports Pavilion and associated pitches.
