Tarmac, Banbury
DJA has been working on behalf of Tarmac Trading Ltd to bring forward a series of improvements and upgrades to their existing depot off Hennef Way in Banbury, which are to serve a projected increase in demand for aggregates storage and distribution, associated with a number of locally and nationally important infrastructure projects. Tarmac require a significant increase in storage capacity at the Banbury site, involving the provision of additional/upgraded storage bays (temporary and permanent) and necessitating the removal of an existing concrete batching plant and replacement/relocation of a new batching plant facility elsewhere within the site. Other ancillary operations were also proposed, including the provision of an improved/widened site access, improved parking and a new office/welfare building.
Following a series of meetings/negotiations with Oxfordshire CC and consultation with the local community, DJA submitted a series of planning applications on Tarmac’s behalf in December 2020/January 2021 and successfully secured planning permission for all works in October 2021.
DJA were responsible for planning and project team management. DJA also provided Landscape & Visual Impact input, involving the preparation of Landscape & Visual Statements and provision of rendered photomontages for the new replacement concrete batching plant (see image).”
