DJA have been working on behalf of Active Building Centre, a UK Government funded centre for excellence whose mission is to accelerate the UK’s drive towards net-zero carbon by transforming the way buildings are powered and heated. In 2021, DJA has successfully achieved planning permission for three demonstrator buildings at ABC’s research centre based on the Gloucestershire Science and Technology Park at Berkeley. The buildings have been constructed to different specifications, to showcase how renewable energy generation and storage technologies can either be retrofitted or incorporated into new-builds. DJA was responsible for all Planning input, i.e. preparation and submission of the applications, including plans where necessary, project management and monitoring through to determination.
