Trinidad
DJA (together with GWP Consultants LLP) was appointed to undertake a National Strategic Environmental Assessment (SEA) for the Government of Trinidad and Tobago. A very large GIS database covering the islands has been established and interrogated as part of the analysis. The project has the main purpose of regularising the extractive industry (there are 65 quarries) and ensuring the provision of construction materials for 25 years; the latter involved a Supply and Demand study to establish the requirements.
In addition, DJA was appointed by the Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI) to produce an audit of Trinidad and Tobago’s land-based mineral revenues. EITI is a global initiative based in Norway. DJA acted as a Consultant to the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) who funded this work.
