In 2003 DJA was appointed at the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC). This is a prestigious 1.2 million square foot extension to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, comprising new bioresearch and clinical facilities. The landscape design includes a ‘Boulevard’ style landscape along the central road with a Sustainable Urban Drainage System (SUDS) and a large urban ‘Piazza’. The design incorporates references to the neurological work carried out at CBC within the public realm spaces through forms and shapes in water, paving, etchings and lighting.
