At Kings Hill, Kent, DJA was commissioned to prepare designs for the public realm setting to the Control Tower and new retail area. The project includes the renovation of the Grade II listed Art Deco styled Control Tower which forms the centre piece of a new retail area linking the commercial sectors of the development with the residential areas. The DJA design includes an Art Deco period garden associated with the Control Tower and formal urban squares connected through a series of routes. Working in conjunction with the arts consultants the landscape design incorporates cultural heritage influences to provide vibrant and functional spaces throughout.
